: It had been days that the sun did not show up, it rained the whole week before the holiday. Finally, I could feel the sunshine along my way to Dalian. Do u see that black spot? That's it, that is the sun!~ I did not know why it appeared in that color...

This glamorous place was next to my home, and it was called HaiJun(navy) Square. Every tourist came to Dalian has noticed that there were many plazas here. I used to walk around here after dinner and squares really offer a more comfortable living standard~

Let me introduce the biggest square in Asia, Xinghai Square!

Xinghai Square locates near Xinghai Bay and it was built in 1994. The center of Xinghai Plaza looks like a star with a White Marble Cloud Pillar in the center. People in Dalian are proud of it, cuz it represents generosity and hospitality of us. Otherwise, it also represents the recent history of Dalian. In 100 years, Dalian changes completely from a fishing village to a modern city. I had been living here for 18yrs, and sometimes I wonder how I can leave this lovely place. I am gonna miss it so much, the people here, the food here and the scene here.

Oh man!How can I leave you! The truth is... I only got 3 months left... T,T

Last Saturday I went to see a herbalist doctor and she said I was subhealthy because of various reasons. Even vegetables are toxic, then what can be better? Does the rapid advancement of technology really make people healthy? Or what? In order to gain a plentiful harvest, farmers use chemical fertilizers instead of natural fertilizers and they grow into vegetables in an invisible way. Otherwise, it infiltrates into the ground and mixes with the ground water and we drink it. However, they have use chemical fertilizers since there are too many people on the planet and the farmers need to feed them. Especially now, the economic crisis brings up the price of food, many poor families can hardly be alive. Disasters never stop, I still believe that we can overcome this hard period.

Last Saturday, a friend of mine came to me from London. She is a heavy smoker, I think the main reason is because of loneliness. That sentence says, "Smoking seriously harms you and others around you". How ironic it is!!! If the world did not even have any goddam cigarettes, then who would be killed in such a invisible way? Although people have different beliefs and traits around the world, but they all want to seek for a sense of belonging from cigarettes. What is worst is more and more women-smokers and teenger-smokers.
Early in 1743, a begger called Horrey Thornfield first invented cigarettes which means cigarettes had a 266-year history already! This encouraged tobacco plants. Nicotine can cause many effects on human brain. Although everybody know the harmful effects of cigarettes, they still buy it no matter how much it costs. Today, you can see cigarettes in stores, cinemas, supermarkets and so on. A "drug" can be seen everywhere on the planet, what is wrong with people?

Geography Portfolio S3E4

This week had been a gloomy one because of a teacher's unexpectable death. And this made me begin to think about a friend of mine who suicided two years ago by jumping from a height.
The main reason is pressure from the society and parents. In China, education seems to be the most important issue to a child rather than health. This traditional way of thinking lasted for hundreds of years and it put a huge pressure on children's growth. Most kids have to learn different skills instead of playing around. Childhood is full of homework! No TV! No game! During there few decades, childen's schoolbags become bigger and bigger, heavier and heavier. The loss of a wonderful childhood is caused by different reasons.
Sometimes, I hate school so much and I even prefer to breathe some fresh air instead of attending those classes. But finally, I cannot find out any fresh air around. The whole world is polluted, people are polluted and destroyed. However, even technology cannot change this horrible truth. Children are still too young to realize the cruel world, why not give them more time to be innocence, to be pure? Life is just once, it is too short. Adults cannot deprive their children the rights to have a real childhood!

This is the Han River in Seoul. It originates in Mount Daedeok and it flows into the Yellow Sea. Although Seoul is quite a small city, the river is more than 1km wide. Along the river, a number of dams are constructed. To make convenient, many bridges are also built.
In my opinion, Seoul is well developed. Seoul is a major global city and South Koreans enjoy the highest living standard in Asia. South Korea also owns many famous companies such as Samsung and LG. In few decades, a rapid economic growth took place in Korea, especially in Seoul. I remember that Korea was suffered badly after World War 2, and it recovered so quickly like a miracle. Maybe the Han River brought them luck.
China should learn something from them especially in this special period.

It was the summer holiday last year, and I spent 5 days to visit Korea with my friends. It was my first time to travel abroad! So excited!
Our plane took about one and a half hour to get there from Dalian. The climate of Dalian and Korea is similar, they are both coastal regions so the temperature is neither too cold nor too hot. Therefore, it is very easy for me to fit into this beautiful city. Anyway, it was a wonderful journey!

I just stayed in Seoul which is a very big modern city. The photo above was a cafe, the whole city gave forth an odour of art and fashion. I could see girls carrying their cameras to record each corner of the city. Here, handmade products were quite expensive. I found that most people bought indigenous cars of Korea, such spirit was rare in my opinion and I kind of respect them. If Chinese could choose more homemade products, that will be awesome!! Well, this is just dream.
I love the streets, nice and clean. I love the sky, blue and crystal. Thank god for giving me the chance to go to Seoul, which sounds like '' soul''. I began to taste the soul of Seoul, and this feeling is never enough because right now I begin to miss the delicious food there, I swear to myself I will go there again, I promise.
